The lifeblood of any community group is its volunteers, and the Coach House Museum is no exception.
Recently, the work done by those volunteers was acknowledged by the trustees at a potluck dinner attended by about 50 people.
For the night’s entertainment, the Palmerston North-based band For Folk’s Sake performed a variety of Christmas songs along with some folk music.
Rosemary van Essen, who describes herself as the person in charge, says the seven-member group was formed under its present guise11 years ago. They perform at rest homes, senior citizens events and the like.
“People keep inviting us back,” she said.
This year has been their busiest yet…with more than 50 concerts performances.
As for the volunteers, they’ve been hard at work all year and they’ll be back again next year.
For Folk’s Sake, led by Rosemary van Essen playing the fiddle, performing at the Coach House Museum’s volunteers potluck dinner, 27 Nov 2024.
