Our Heritage

The Coach House is a world class museum that is home to an outstanding collection of rural New Zealand Heritage, showcasing over 140 years of history.

It’s a fascinating historical journey through the lives of our early settlers and the development of the ManawatÅ« region, a story that resonates around Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Visitors are always surprised by the sheer size of the museum and its’ impressive collection and outstanding displays depicting our rich history of pioneering to prosperity through New Zealand’s rural development and farming innovation.

A walk though, shows in great detail, the stories of the pioneer lifestyle, commerce and the evolution of the vehicles they used from the early horse drawn era through to vintage tractors and farm machinery to develop Manawatū into the thriving rural heartland it is today.
